Our Sessions

The sessions will take place term time and be outdoors in all weathers as long as it is safe to do so.

Make sure to dress sensibly for all weathers and prepare to leave sessions a little, if not very muddy at times!

Our sessions will always be planned accordingly but as Forest School is child-centred and learner led, we endeavour to follow the children’s lead and interests. If you feel there is something you think your child has enjoyed during a session or would enjoy to expand their interest please let me know and I can plan future sessions accordingly.

Some activities will be structured and demonstrated whilst others will be free play. We will begin using basic tools and then eventually more difficult tools with the older groups. Lots of skills will be learnt such as fire lighting, tool safety, knot tying and animal tracking. We hope to develop resilience, foster a love of the outdoors and work on our well-being , both the children and adults. This time is for you too!

Sessions will include a drink and snack ( foraged if possible )so please make sure to notify me of any allergies or dietary needs.

If you have any spare outdoor layers of clothing, waterproof or footwear no longer needed please bring them along and we can add them to a collection for swapping or using for those common weather extremities we very often have!
